History and Science Behind CBD Oil

For years, we all have been using natural herbal supplements for a multitude of health concerns or to just maintain our general health. From Ginger and Cranberry to Ginseng, Echinacea and Flax Seed and Oil, these natural plants and roots are used in our everyday lives, and that is just to name a few. We use these because we all want to live healthier lives and we want to do it in the most natural way possible. The Hemp plant is no different, and as you will see below, it alone is more effective than all of the supplements that have been available to us combined.

History

  • CBD Oil, or Hemp Oil, has been used medicinally in both humans and animals for centuries with undeniable results. In the 1600's, medical manuals such as The English Veterinary Guide, De Materia Medica, and An Antidote Against Melancholy were all considered the best at the time, and all contained remedies using cannabis to treat a variety of ailments.

  • Because of it's all encompassing medicinal value, by the 19th century every pharmaceutical company in the United States and Britain, were creating remedies made from cannabis, and it wasn't until 1961 that it was deemed illegal. Luckily, the oil from this amazing plant, containing no THC (that's what gets you "high"), and it's incredible healing properties, is now available to us again in the form of CBD Oil.

Science

  • Beginning in the late 1980's, scientists discovered that all humans and animals (all but insects) have receptors in our brain called endocannabinoid receptors (CB1). Named after the cannabis plant because of their powerful response to it, these receptors were found to be more abundant in our brains than any other type of neurotransmitter. A second type of endocannabinoid receptor (CB2) was then found just as abundantly in our central nervous and immune systems. Our endocannabinoid system (ECS) is so immense, it directs all the other systems and neurotransmitters in our bodies.

  • Receptors and transmitters work like keys and locks, and only certain chemicals will fit within them, in turn making them work. The cannabinoids in CBD oil allow them to open and close by which they then communicate with the cells, nerves, and the other systems in our bodies, directing them to where we are in need. This allows our bodies to fight and prevent a myriad of illnesses, safely and naturally.
